ILAD accreditation studies were the subject of research
The subject of this study is to examine the accreditation of communication programs in Turkey in the context of the views of administrator academics. The research aims to explore the views of administrator academics who are deans, vice deans, or heads of departments in their institutions on the accreditation of communication education in Turkey. Eleven administrator academics working in undergraduate communication programs within Turkey were interviewed for this study.

The study sample was drawn by multi-stage sampling, and proportional stratified and purposive sampling was used to ensure that the groups in the universe were represented in proportion to their weights. It has been concluded that although there are minor problems in practice, accreditation plays a developer role for institutions.Accordingly, accreditation provides institutions with opportunities to renew, correct the deficiencies in the organizational chart, update the curriculum, strengthen the teaching staff, increase physical environments and opportunities, and develop financial resources. In this respect, accreditation in communication education in Turkey is seen as a concrete output rather than a corporate reputation provider.

Higher Education Quality Council Turkey (YÖKAK) authorized ILAD Communication Research Association to accredit higher education programs in the field of communication.
