The 22nd İLAD Institutional Information Workshop Was Held with Over 100 Participants

Improvements in İLAD’s accreditation criteria regarding artificial intelligence were shared with deans, department heads, and academics from 24 universities attending the workshop.

The 22nd İLAD Institutional Information Workshop was conducted with the participation of over 100 academics. Representatives from 24 universities across Turkey gathered to obtain comprehensive information about the accreditation process.

During the workshop, information was provided on how institutions should prepare for the accreditation certificate granted by İLAD / İLEDAK, which ensures quality assurance in communication education. Participants, including deans, department heads, and academics, were informed about İLAD’s criteria and the process of preparing the Self-Assessment Report (ÖDR), which demonstrates compliance with these criteria.

In the opening speech of the workshop, İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz emphasized the significance of accreditation for communication faculties. İLEDAK President Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun provided a detailed explanation of the accreditation process and shared key points that applicants should consider.

İLAD Criteria Commission Chair Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi provided insights into the program-specific and field-specific criteria for communication faculties, while İLAD Education Commission Member Prof. Dr. Deniz Nalan Büker addressed the critical aspects of preparing the Self-Assessment Report.

The workshop covered various topics, including measures to enhance the quality of communication education, qualifications required for academic staff, the alignment of course content with program missions and visions, student satisfaction, and assessment and evaluation processes.

In the Q&A session at the end of the workshop, participants raised their questions regarding the accreditation process. Representatives from İLAD and İLEDAK provided detailed information on evaluation processes and accreditation criteria, addressing the inquiries of university representatives.

Additionally, the workshop highlighted the improvements made to İLAD’s criteria regarding large language models and artificial intelligence, which are rapidly advancing and introducing significant innovations in the field of communication.


 






Higher Education Quality Council Turkey (YÖKAK) authorized ILAD Communication Research Association to accredit higher education programs in the field of communication.
