Fifty faculty members participated in the 16th Assessor Training Workshop.
The 16th Assessor Training Workshop convened with the participation of 50 faculty members distinguished at the levels of professorship and associate professorship. This workshop, conducted in an online format, served as a pivotal initiative within the framework of ILAD's accreditation endeavors for communication programs, aiming to cultivate and prepare a cadre of new program evaluators. The workshop took place on the 11th of September, 2023.
During the workshop, presentations were delivered by prominent figures within the academic community, including Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz, the President of ILAD; Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun, serving as the President of İLEDAK; Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi Nalçaoğlu, who occupies the esteemed position of Chairman of the İLEDAK Criteria Commission; Prof. Dr. Jale Sarmaşık, holding the distinguished role of Vice President at ILAD; and Prof. Dr. Senem Duruel Erkılıç, who serves as Vice President at İLEDAK. These presentations expounded upon the intricacies of conducting accreditation studies. Following Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz's opening address and her introductory interactions with the participants, a comprehensive exposition on ILAD and İLEDAK was presented, with a particular focus on elucidating the pertinent criteria governing accreditation processes.
Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun, the President of İLEDAK, provided an in-depth elucidation of İLEDAK's overarching structural framework, its fundamental objectives, the notable advancements it has achieved since its inception, and delivered comprehensive insights regarding the intricacies of the accreditation process and its constituent stages.
Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi Nalçaoğlu, the Chairperson of the İLEDAK Criteria Commission, provided a comprehensive exposition to the attendees regarding the ILAD Evaluation Criteria and Program Achievements. These criteria, collaboratively formulated with stakeholders, have been devised by ILAD to establish and quantitatively assess the standards inherent to communication education.
Prof. Dr. Jale Sarmaşık, Vice President of ILAD, delivered practical instruction encompassing diverse facets of program evaluation, including typologies of program evaluation, the procedural intricacies of the evaluation process, the art of report preparation, and the discernment of accreditation decisions.
Prof. Dr. Senem Duruel Erkılıç, Vice President of İLEDAK, furnished an elucidation concerning the consistency guide and ethical regulations, encapsulating a succinct summary of the salient considerations that evaluators are advised to exercise vigilance towards.
Following the presentations, the workshop proceeded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants engaged in the exchange of information and ideas pertaining to the domains of accreditation and the establishment of quality standards within the sphere of higher education.
Concluding the workshop, which comprised two sessions and spanned a full day, ILAD Evaluator Certificates were dispatched to all participants who affixed their signatures to the ILAD Privacy and Ethics Declarations.
Higher Education Quality Council Turkey (YÖKAK) authorized ILAD Communication Research Association to accredit higher education programs in the field of communication.
