İLAD 18th Evaluator Training Workshop

The 18th Evaluator Training Workshop, organized by İLAD, was conducted online on Saturday, September 14, 2024, with the participation of 38 attendees.

The workshop trained 38 participants who will be eligible to serve in the teams formed by İLEDAK for accreditation tasks. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants were awarded the "İLAD Evaluator Certificate," allowing them to take part in İLEDAK teams.

The 18th Evaluator Training Workshop was held with the participation of 50 faculty members. The workshop, designed to train new program evaluators for accreditation activities in communication programs, was attended by professors and associate professors specializing in their respective fields.

Presentations on the functioning of accreditation processes were delivered by prominent figures, including İLAD President Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz, İLEDAK President Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun, İLEDAK Criteria Committee Chair Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi Nalçaoğlu, İLAD Board Member Prof. Dr. Nalan Büker, and İLEDAK Vice President Prof. Dr. Senem Duruel Erkılıç. Prof. Dr. Aysel Aziz provided an overview of İLAD and İLEDAK to the participants.

Prof. Dr. Recep Tayfun elaborated on İLEDAK’s structure, objectives, and the developmental progress it has made since its inception, alongside detailed explanations of the accreditation process and its stages. Prof. Dr. Nilüfer Timisi Nalçaoğlu briefed the participants on the İLAD Evaluation Criteria and Program Learning Outcomes, which were developed in collaboration with stakeholders to set and assess standards in communication education.

Prof. Dr. Nalan Büker provided training on the evaluation process, the preparation of Program Evaluator Reports (PDR), and accreditation decisions. Prof. Dr. Senem Duruel Erkılıç discussed the consistency guidelines and ethical rules, summarizing the key points that evaluators must pay attention to.

The workshop continued with a Q&A session, fostering discussions on accreditation and quality standards in higher education. The event, which consisted of two sessions and lasted a full day, concluded with the distribution of "İLAD Evaluator Certificates" to participants who signed the İLAD Confidentiality and Ethics Statements.



Higher Education Quality Council Turkey (YÖKAK) authorized ILAD Communication Research Association to accredit higher education programs in the field of communication.
