The ILAD Consultation Board convened with sector representatives

The ILAD Consultation Board convened with representatives from the journalism, radio television, and cinema sectors. During the meeting, held with representatives from institutions in the Journalism and Radio Television Cinema sectors, discussions revolved around proposed updates to the criteria and recent developments within these sectors.



 

The ILAD Consultation Board met with representatives from institutions in the Journalism and Radio Television Cinema sectors. The meeting, attended by ILAD and ILEDAK executives, the chairman of the ILAD Criteria Commission, and the coordinator of the ILAD Consultation Board, focused on evaluating the ILAD criteria related to Journalism, Radio Television, and Cinema, and proposing new updates. Developments highlighted by artificial intelligence were discussed. Particularly emphasized was the importance of ethical values in communication conducted via social media and the need for a more comprehensive approach to communication education.

 

Attendees included Sibel Güneş, General Secretary of the TGC Journalists' Association; Recep Erçin, President of the EGD Economic Journalists Association; Burhan Gün, General Secretary of TESİYAP Television and Cinema Film Producers Association; Yusuf Gürsoy, former president of RATEM Radio Television Producers Professional Association; Mehmet Akif Ebiçlioğlu, CEO of 3P Advertising Agency; Sena Merter, cinema TV advertisement director/producer; and Ali Fuat Gülmez, Director of TRT Istanbul Radio. The meeting solicited feedback and suggestions from the sector.

 

Discussions revolved around enhancing the quality of communication programs from which the sector's required personnel graduate and aligning them with the European Higher Education Area qualifications framework. Exchanges of views were held on the necessary updates to achieve this alignment.

 

 



Higher Education Quality Council Turkey (YÖKAK) authorized ILAD Communication Research Association to accredit higher education programs in the field of communication.
